By analyzing the material of Cr12MoV for diesel engine’s roller axle, and its heat treatment techniques, the factors that influenced the stability of the roller axle dimension after nitrocarburizing are found out. Through controlling carbide shape and distribution, and by optimizing the parameters of quench hardening and tempering, the steady microstructure could be obtained, thus guarantees the stability of roller axle dimension after salt bath nitrocarburizing.
